UK9-day fortnight2027
9-day fortnight annual leave planner for 2027
A fixed nine-day fortnight has one rostered day off in every 14-day cycle. One confirmed RDO date maps the repeating pattern and exposes leave windows around weekends and region-specific bank holidays.

The repeating pattern
Anchor one genuine RDO.
The anchor must be a date that the employee’s fixed pattern marks as the rostered day off. The planner repeats that RDO every 14 calendar days in both directions through 2027.

Questions the pattern must answer
9-day fortnight planner FAQ
What pattern does this planner support?
It supports a fixed Monday-to-Friday arrangement in which nine equal-length compressed days are worked across two weeks and one weekday is a rostered day off every 14 calendar days. Weekends are treated as non-working.
Why is one known RDO date required?
The calendar date determines which alternating week contains the RDO. The planner adds and subtracts exact 14-day intervals from that anchor; a date that is merely leave or a bank holiday would shift every calculated RDO.
How are leave hours converted?
When the balance is entered in hours, the planner divides it by the confirmed hours in one equal compressed workday. Decimal hours are retained. Unequal day lengths are outside this planner’s scope.
Are bank holidays automatically days off?
No. Whether an employee works a bank holiday depends on the employment contract and workplace arrangements. The confirmed-off option applies only when the employer has confirmed that the date is non-working without consuming the entered leave balance.
Does the result calculate holiday entitlement?
No. It allocates a balance that has already been confirmed. Statutory and contractual entitlement, bank-holiday deductions, part-year accrual, carry-over and approval remain outside the calculation.
Where do the 2027 bank-holiday dates come from?
The regional dates come from the official GOV.UK bank-holiday calendar. Northern Ireland employment guidance is available through nidirect.
