Northern Ireland 2027 quick answer

Three March holidays create the year’s clearest long break.

For someone who normally works Monday to Friday, St Patrick’s Day, Good Friday and Easter Monday frame a 13-day break. The six intervening workdays are the proposed leave dates; weekends and holidays complete the run.

Request 18–19 and 22–25 March 2027.

The break begins on St Patrick’s Day and ends on Easter Monday. It assumes all three holidays are non-working days for you and that Saturday and Sunday are your usual days off.

A holiday date is a planning input, not extra entitlement. There is no automatic statutory right to paid time off on these dates; your contract decides whether you work, receive time off or use annual leave.

Exact worked example

How six proposed leave days could create 13 days away.

This sequence assumes a Monday-to-Friday working week, weekends off and that the applicable holidays are confirmed non-working days under your employer’s policy.

Summer and Christmas alternatives.

These shorter four-day examples may suit people saving most of their balance for another trip.

Battle of the Boyne4 → 9Request 13–16 July · away 10–18 July
Summer bank holiday4 → 9Request 31 Aug–3 Sep · away 28 Aug–5 Sep
Christmas and New Year4 → 11Request 24 and 29–31 Dec · away 24 Dec–3 Jan

The summer cards are alternative manual proposals; the four-day planner preset selects the stronger Christmas result. That example uses the 3 January 2028 New Year substitute day as an adjacent non-working day and does not spend leave from 2028.
